We can choose to think positive thoughts or negative thoughts. Likewise, we can make an effort to ensure all our actions contribute to positive outcomes or we can convince ourselves that negative outcomes are inevitable. Such choices can then have a profound affect on your life, for they are the seeds you sow in the universe. Your words and deeds, even the thoughts kept hidden in your mind, contribute to your experience by attracting similar words, deeds, and thoughts because of the Law of Attraction. It is a natural law, as easy to understand as "like begets like" or "what you sow, so shall you reap." It means that what you give to the universe will come back to you, giving you a huge measure of control over the direction and quality of your own life. If you are patient, you will no doubt be able to see the Law of Attraction at work in your own life. To give a simple example, a smile freely given to a stranger or coworker often nets a smile in return, while a scowl directed at the same individual will most likely cause them to scowl back. On a larger scale your thoughts, feelings, and reactions to people and situations subtly change your aura. These changes in energy can act like a magnet, pulling similar energy to you, be it positive or negative. As you walk your path, you can use the Law of Attraction to help you create the life you want to live by making a conscious decision to emit positive energy. If you are experiencing unpleasantness at home or work, perhaps analyze your own treatment of others. If you find yourself under a great deal of stress, ask yourself if you have been focusing on the expectation of stress. Remember that your thoughts, too, can attract positive or negative outcomes. Will you choose to focus on beauty, peace, happiness, and love, or to dwell on the faults of others or the world? It's up to you. Because of the Law of Attraction, your focus can easily become your destiny. Learning to alter your reality by attracting only positive people and situations, or, indeed, anything you desire, will open an infinite number of doors April 18, 2005 Attention To Detail Putting Your Best Foot Forward It's said that first impressions take less than a minute to form. Every day, whether we are conscious of it or not, we leave almost indelible suggestions of ourselves in the minds of others. These suggestions are based on a multitude of factors and help others form opinions on our level of organization, our stamina, our self-respect, and our respect for others. Most people want to be seen in a positive light and one way to ensure this is to put your best foot forward. Your style can speak volumes, representing your strengths, and can demonstrate that you know and are comfortable with yourself. Putting your best foot forward isn't about luxury cosmetics, an expensive hairdo, or the "right" clothing. The key is to be both confident in spirit and polished in manner and dress. During both first impressions and later rendezvous, others consciously and unconsciously attribute meaning to the image you present. One can look stunning and put-together in a pair of jeans with attention to detail or flat in a flashy suit if hastily put on. Though it may seem superfluous or even shallow, spending a few extra moments each morning to sculpt a unique hairstyle, shave cleanly, or file a jagged fingernail, it will show the world you care about yourself and that you have an eye for detail. The more polished you look on the outside, the more confident you will feel on the inside, and it is a positive cycle: People with good self-esteem inevitably take better care of themselves. Taking time to focus on yourself before facing the world also benefits the soul. As you enjoy your morning routine, you will have time to reflect on the coming day and to focus on being the best you can be. Putting your best foot forward is not about fitting into an image, embracing the latest fashions, or making yourself into something you're not. Your idea of what constitutes a finishing touch will be different from that of your friends and family. But, in the simple act of going a step further in your presentation of yourself, you will be able to demonstrate your respect for others and yourself, your attention to detail, your ability to organize and coordinate, your uniqueness, and your love of yourself. www.dailyom.com si Monyet @ 4/18/2005 09:32:00 AM Saturday, April 16, 2005 The other day, Rhob and Dorothy were talking about how Asian (Chinese, Korean, n Japanese esp) LOVED to make the peace/horn sign (pointer n middle fingers)... especially in pictures! It's not just the fingers, though, what's funny is when the whole body is kinda twisted here n there too, n the head too... here's a not-so-good example of one of those... posted especially for Rhob's entertainment ^.~ Don't worry, Vara, u still look adorable... peace ^.~si Monyet @ 4/16/2005 02:06:00 PM Went karaoke at Twister on Thursday night... we had so much fun... Rhob especially, was amazing... too bad Steve, Sam, and Haidy couldn't come... but there's always a next time. We sang songs from Elton John, the Killers, John Travolta, George Michael, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, Dido, Shaggy, Cher, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, even Hillary Duff (uugghh)... pokoknya semuaaaa dah dr yg lagu2 tua sampe yg baru2 Karena di tempat karaokenya gak banyak tempat parkir, jd kita cuman pake 2 mobil aja... dibagi 2 group, yg ngerokok n yg gak ngerokok... yg ngerokok langsung dah ngerokok, belon juga jalan tuh mobil, udah gak tahan lagi hahaha. Untung gw gak ngerokok, repot bgt dah mesti keluar2 terus buat ngilangin craving. Nih kalo mau liat pics nya... pokoknya seru deh. Enjoy!
After Karaoke, we all went to meet Steve (who closed the store by himself) at Boston Pizza... All of us were so hungry that everything in the menu looked good! We were the only customers left there and they were ready to close... too bad for them, we came along hahaha. If I were in their positions, I would have kicked everyone out! ^.^ si Monyet @ 4/16/2005 09:50:00 AM Wednesday, April 13, 2005 Short precious quotesThe following quote is meant to let those men that do not treat women with respect. That women are not there to be taken advantage of or walked all over.all Women should be treated with respect. This is written in the Hebrew Talmud, the book where all of the sayings and preaching of Rabbis are conserved over time. It says: "Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved." Pass this on to all exceptional women that you know.. and to Men so they know the value of Women. Today I smiled, and all at once Things didn't look so bad. Today I shared with someone else, A little bit of hope I had. Today I sang a little song, And felt my heart grow light. I walked a happy little mile, With not a cloud in sight. Today I worked with what I had, And longed for nothing more, And what had seemed like only weeds, Were flowers at my door. Today I loved a little more, And complained a little less. And in the giving of myself, I forgot my weariness. Smile! It just feels good! If you have a smile, share it! March 30, 2005 Being Truly Free Letting Go There is tremendous freedom in letting go. It is liberation to free ourselves of things that clutter our lives; too many possessions, useless emotions, unhealthy habits, old beliefs, even people that drain our energy. All of these things and more can weigh us down. Every once in awhile it's good to "clean out our closets" literally and figuratively. Like pruning dead branches or like a snake shedding an old skin, we need to let go of the what no longer serves or what no longer fits, so that there is room for something new, alive, and what is needed at this time in our lives. Yet, we are a possessive society. We often hold on to things, feelings, and relationships out of habit or, many times, out of fear of being without. For so much of learning to let go is about learning to trust. We have to be able to trust that, indeed, new branches will grow, that there is a new skin under the old one. And yet, to the degree that we are willing to let go, we are able to receive. When we stop holding on and clinging to anything, we realize we have everything. For in reality, we really own nothing. Certainly, we don't own people. Our spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, children are not really "ours." Even if we own the title to our house or car, such possessions can be gone in a moment, taken by a natural disaster, an accident, or financial circumstances. Native Americans could not grasp the European concept of "owning" land, anymore than one can own the sky. For everything belongs to the universe, as even we do. When we allow ourselves to rethink our sense of "ownership," it is easier to let go. We no longer need to feel burdened by the responsibility of having to hold on to something. Rethink the value of a prized book collection, a coveted job, and feelings for an old flame. Perhaps it isn't necessary to physically get rid of something, but letting go of the power that a person, ideology, or material object possesses is truly freeing. Well, I'm finally gonna do my first exam today... at 7 pm... essay, for 3 hrs! it's gonna be tense n I'm gonna be anxious... but I trust that God will help me ^.~ U know what, those frenster horoscopes are always nice to read... it helps brighten people's day ... But please don't look at it as a piece of prophecy or eschatology... but look at it as a piece of frenly advice, encouragement, etc... and something to focus on thruout the day... cuz it just makes sense to do that... e.g., to watch your spending habits, to work hard, etc... hehehe Nobody really knows what's gonna happen, except those whom God chooses to reveal insights to. If we all know what's gonna happen, it'll be plain boring, no? I think it takes away the excitement... and what is life without excitement... "Too many times we pray for ease, but that's a prayer seldom met. What we need to do is pray for roots that reach deep into the Eternal, so that when the rain falls and the wind blows, we won't be swept asunder" (Philip Gulley- Chicken Soup for the Unsinkable Soul). I came across this nice poem by Anne Stortz: When all the world is looming dark And things seem not so clear, When shadows seem to hover 'round Lord, may I persevere. When it seems everything's been tried And there's no way to go, Just let me keep remembering Sometimes the journey's slow. I may just need to stop and rest Along the path I trod, A time to understand And have my talk with God. As I gain new strength to carry on Without a doubt or fear, Somehow I know things will be right, And so, I persevere. That's it for today folks... I pray for guidance, strength, and help for everyone who are doing their finals, exams, or what have u... and for all the people in need of prayer. si Monyet @ 4/12/2005 09:31:00 AM Sunday, April 03, 2005 It's spring and yet, the rain/snow hasn't stopped since yesterday. It's wet snow, so the road is very very slippery and muddy. It's like the heaven is mourning the death of the Pope, Pope John Paul II, who departed yesterday. May God receive his soul in Heaven. Sister Lucia (one of the 3 children the Immaculate Mary appeared to in the early 1900s) died on Thursday... I have no idea how old she was, maybe around 98 y.o? I pray for her too.Well, daylight saving has begun... the clock was moved forward 1 hr.. darn it! I hate it when I lose 1 hr of sleep... oh well, what can u do, rite... Rain or no rain, I gotta go to the movies with my little sister today... cuz I promised her we'd watch Ice Princess... It'd better be a darn good movie! And I'm gonna take her out shopping too... that should be fun..NOT.. I don't know why, I'm not thrilled when it comes to shopping.. I get headaches trying clothes on... but today should be fine, I guess, since she'll be the one trying on clothes and I'll just be picking stuff 4 her... hahaha. I have a fren who has a shoe fetish... oh boy, I cringed everytime I heard her say "I bought new shoes/sandals today" and all I could say in response was "another pair?" hahaha... and she just laughed at me. I miss Sandi... Sandiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii when are you coming back from the US??? How's your cousin's wedding? Starting tomorrow, I HAVE to start studying for my final exams... in less than 3 weeks it'll all be over... and then summer courses begin sometime in May... uugghh! Alrite... moving on to the third season of "Sex n the city" DVD. On Thursday, Sam said, "You know what, I think u're addicted to TV shows!" hahaha... I replied "You know what, I might be!" hahaha... It all started with "Nip/Tuck"... finished season 1, and then moved on to "Six Feet Under", finished seasons 1 n 2... n then "The O. C" halfway thru season 1... it started to get boring after about 6 episodes... I heard Fox TV might cancel the show, cuz it got boring and the public lost interest... no kidding! Oh and "Dead Like Me" was very good too... finished season 1. And then I moved on to "Sex n the City" there are 6 seasons, and I'm almost halfway thru... what else did I watch? I'm sure there are others, but I just can't think of them right now... You know what I love about NOT watching TV and just watch them when they come out on DVD? I don't have to wait! hahaha... I can just watch them whenever I want to and however many episodes I wanna watch at any one time. Yeah! Oh, 2 of my frens saw "Sin City" and they LOVED it... I saw the trailer and I'm now dying to see it! It looks excellent! Plus, it's an all-star cast! Benicio Del Toro, Elijah Wood, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy, Rosario Dawson, Clive Owen, Josh Hartnett, Alexis Bledel, and Jaime King. I'm so looking forward to seeing it... FIONAAAAAAAAAA u wanna go see it on Wednesday???? that is, if u ain't workin' on Wed... gimme a call babe... si Monyet @ 4/03/2005 09:58:00 AM |
